I thought that simun was a great experience because you had to prepare to have a chance to do well in your group. I did this very well but I didn’t expect some of the upperclassman to be as hard on me as they were. I was drilled with questions I couldn’t answer but I did that to a few people me. Next year I think that we should be require to go through more scenarios so all countries can be involved.
I thought that for my first year of simun compared to the rest of the freshman in my group I was a little UN prepared but I still grinded my way through the three days. I would make inquiries and motions as much as I could and because my country was Venezuela and the Falkland Islands conflict required me to be very involved. To do things differently I would have made more allies so my motions could have passed.
I prepared by researching every topic the way I should, more than two sources and understanding the topics very well. Especially the ones that involved my country. I could have prepared better by doing my countries history better because I was unaware of the way they would handle these situations not the way I would handle these situations. If I could do it again this would be the main area I need to improve in. To prepare differently for next year I will research from my countries perspective not mine. I need to spend more time on each topic so I can get a good grade on simun because it counts for a lot.

Israeli troops did violate the fourth Geneva convention (war crimes and possible crimes against humanity).
The Israeli government has been covering this entire incident up since the day it happened. If there government was confident that they did not do anything wrong then they would have done an investigation in the first place. When you look at history people protect their own, this situation is no different, the government delegates the troops to do something wrong, the troops know its wrong, the government knows its wrong, and when they are responsible for investigating it, nothing ever seems to turn up to incriminate anybody. The only bad part is that when someone else looks into things and something turns up like remains from an airstrike bomb then you have to sit there and take the blame.
another reason that the Israeli troops committed war crimes is because they were anticipating a long war. In a long war strategy will often beat bulk or number of troops. If the Palestinians didn't have any food then they would ultimetaly lose the war. When the Israeli's dilibriatly attacked the only working flour mill the palestinians had it was taking away a main source of food and giving them the edge in the war.
I know that the Isreali's will continue to argue that the flour mill was just collaterall damage but if it was then why were there no people killed when it happened? The reason is becuase all they were trying to do is get rid of a food source. All in all it was a very good strategy...... if you don't get caught, but they did and the evidence is stacked against them. In my opinion it doesn't look good for the people who ordered the air strike on the flour mill.

semester relfection blog
Global Education is a different kind of class than anything I have ever taken before. In this class Mr. Fielder’s class he has taken a different approach to English than I am used to, a lot of writing (a lot of struggling), many rewrites and revises, and I have found out that you can never write a perfect piece. At the beginning of this class I didn’t even know what margin notes were, now I would like to think that I have improved very much. The part I like most about this class is we get to ponder and discuss some of the same questions that the president (Obama) deals with everyday.
The most difficult part of this class was the writing by far. From the first days writing assignment to the Paul R. letters, my writing techniques have improved dramatically; in the beginning I was using lower case (eye’s) and only writing one copy and turning it in, now I will always make sure to have someone read my final copy to look for any spelling, grammatical, or punctuation errors. One thing I have tried to work on especially hard on because I have had such a hard time with it is writing a clear thesis; it is the key to having a good pieces of writing, without it your lost and if you do it right everything else will just fall into place. i.e.” President Obama is the best president we have ever had because he is African American.” 2. “President Obama is a very good president because of his speaking skills and his efforts in the Middle East”. I have defiantly learned some key things about writing a thesis this semester.
If you wanted to know what ate up the most time this semester it would be reading. When you get to be in high school you can comprehend a good part of what you read. Pulling material out of a selection and deciding how to tell other people to understand it is difficult; hence Q.C.V.I.’s . The first and for most thing you had to learn was how to leave a question open ended, this made the question debatable and in conclusion a discussion question. “Who is narrating this story?” (a question that can be found in the book) “Why do you think the author chose Mike to narrate the story instead of his twin brother Sean)? This question can only be speculated at, never answered (making it the right choice).

south africa
if i had to choose between the five countries i would choose south africa to be a native in.
I choose south africa because they fought back sucessfully against the europeans more than the other 4 countries. when Shaka fought the europeans he killed more than 1500 of them in a full out upset in the battle of Isandlwana .
My second reason for wanting to be a south african native is even when aparteid started they were always in the talk, the europeans never completley took away their rights, for example the ANC the political party always had a say in what was happening in south africa, and now the ANC practically runs the country.
all in all things worked out best for the natives of south africa so i would choose to be them if i had the choice

To Much Homework
I wonder what was going through these teachers head on friday afternoon. yeah they got a cultural event, and they know darn well nobody had started. So they have a scret meeting in the teachers lounge and decide how they are going to punish us for that. They spend hours apon ours brainstorming, Mr. Fielders list consitied of water bording or assign extra homework for the weekend. He picked the worse of the 2. Mrs. B did the same thing. When they first assigned the homework i wasnt sure wether or not i was going to blow it off, be responsible and do it on saturday ( FAT CHANCE) or procrastinate until sunday night at 10:04. you can guess which one i did. currently my brain is fried from how much global ed homework i did this weekend. but get used to it if your in my class cause teachers have had it out for me since the first grade. In conclusion all teachers are evil ( exept the man grading this paper) every last one of them. When you dont get that one present for christmas you really wanted, it was teachers. when your mom sends you to bed at 8:30 instead of 8:45, it was the teachers idea, and when your alarm goes off in the middle of the night for no reason, it was the staff at livonia stevenson high school. last and certainly not least, who do you think the boogie man is? well ill tell you, teachers ( fielder!). so its saturday morning and i just woke up. The first thing on my mind was to do my blog for Mr. fielders 6th hour. I will not be B- blazer anymore.

Rwandan Genocide
When I step out of character and look back at the Rwandan genocide I can really only point the finger at one person. That person is Paul Kagame. I say this because if you would like equal rights then you shouldn’t start killing Hutu’s you should petition the government or seek help elsewhere. This entire tragity could have been evoided if the tutsi's would have stayed subordanate to the hutu's. even though almost nobodies actions were noble the R.P.F and Paul Kagame started it all. Even though juvenile was mostly responsible for the deaths of 800,000 Tutsi’s it goes back to the saying, if you mess with the bull you get the horns.
Our class debate was a great experience and I was proud of myself for being as prepared as I was. Everyone in our class stayed in character very well and the discussions got heated, Belgium was beat up on constantly, and the Interhamwe........ well you know what they did, everyone was fighting for there point so much that Mr. Fielder even had to step in and calm us down a few times, gag orders were handed out, I think that says it all. This class assignment made me interested in mammon and Simon and maybe debate is something I should get into, all in all the debate rocked my socks off.
